Thoughts: This song pisses me off. I love the Wonder Girls but this song is currently on my shit list. Joking or no, come on! How many girls that listen to this will ‘get’ that they are mocking this egotistical lifestyle? Know your audience JYP!

Lyrics

I’m so hot
I’m so fine
I’m so cool
I’m so so so hot hot

I’m so hot
I’m so fine
I’m so cool
I’m so so so hot hot

I’m so hot
I’m so fine
I’m so cool
I’m so so so hot hot

Everybody Watching me
Cause I’m hot hot
Everybody Wanting me
Cause I’m hot hot

please leave me alone all the boys
be loving me
girls be hating me
they will never stop
Cause I know I’m so hot hot

I’m so hot
I’m so fine
I’m so cool
I’m so so so hot hot

Translation

Why do you keep on looking?
Am I that pretty?
Even if I am
If you keep on looking at me like that
I feel a little embarrassed.
Every time I pass by
all the boys turn their heads
I can feel their hot gazes on my back
What am I supposed to do?

I’m so hot
I’m hella pretty
I’m so fine
I’m too attractive
I’m so cool
I’m really charasmatic
I’m so so so hot hot

Gazes are always directed at me
All the boys follow me around everywhere
I should be used to it by now
but why am I still so nervous?
I want to live a normal life
like all the other girls
Why did my mom give birth to me like this?
My life is sooo tiring

I’m so hot
I’m hella pretty
I’m so fine
I’m too attractive
I’m so cool
I’m really charasmatic
I’m so so so hot hot

I’m so hot
I’m hella pretty
I’m so fine
I’m too attractive
I’m so cool
I’m really charasmatic
I’m so so so hot hot

Everybody watching me
Cause I’m hot hot
Everybody wanting me
Cause I’m hot hot

Everywhere, anytime
the spotlight follows me.
No matter where I go
it follows me.
Restaurants, roadways, Cafe, night clubs
how old do I have to be until
this damn popularity goes away?
My sexy eyes are like Go So Young’s
My beautiful legs are like Ha Ji Won’s
What can I do?
I think everyone likes me, oh no
please leave me alone
all the boys be loving me
girls be hating me
they will never stop
Cause I know I’m so hot hot

I’m so hot
I’m hella pretty
I’m so fine
I’m too attractive
I’m so cool
I’m really charasmatic
I’m so so so hot hot

  1. kelly says:

I second your opinion. What is even worse, is that verrry few of my high schoolers grasp how full of themselves this song makes these girls look. They think it’s cute, charming, even. I think it’s ridiculous and I hope their next song is less offensive to the senses.

Well, not saying it’s right, but this isn’t anything new. Look at Danity Kane, Pussycat Dolls, Lil Mama, Beyonce, Rihanna, etc. etc. etc.
And the lyrics… I mean, yeah the lyrics are essentially arrogant and make them look really big-headed, but it’s not meant to be taken that seriously anyway. Their mv has embarassing moments in it to kind of counteract that. I don’t think we should be blaming Wondergirls or JYP; if we blame anyone, we should blame our entire society for this. The only thing that bothers me about this song is that it’s so mimiking the American style of music. Sure it’s catchy and all, but how about we stop trying to copy everything Americans do and pave our own way and culture for once?!

  3. grace says:

no doubt that this is nothing new…but the lyrics simply annoy me.🙂

  4. becool says:

I agree with the second comment…. (Can’t read the name on my phone.)

When I read the translation I initially thought to myself, gosh- these girls are so conceited. But was I only saying this because they were Korean females, Asian for that matter? Maybe. I think thay its because we Asians tend to be modest..(something like that.) my point is, in the western pop culture, we don’t criticize musicians and entertainers when they sing about how hot they are. So why are we so quick to judge some girls who are just singing some silly song?

Anyways, I actually like how some Korean producers are adapting western pop music into their own style. It really isn’t about individual style..its just about whats popular and good music. Appealing to the masses.

  5. Yoobin says:

Uhm, actually in the English translation, when Yoobin is rapping about her legs and eyes, it’s actually,
“My sexy eyes are so Go So Young,
my attractive legs are sorta Ha Ji Won.”

Well, it’s not actually considered “copying”. I think all styles of music, whatever culture they’re from, always seem to have the same style as another, but there will always be something to set them apart. :]

  6. gosh_retards says:

umm..for all of u who think the lyrics are arrogant..

ITS A JOKE. cant u tell?

..u cant even take a joke? just chill and enjoy the music.. geeze =.=

  7. SeungRi says:

You kno that these lyrics arent meant to be talking about themselves…its about other actors and singers who are conceited.
    idiots. calm down.

  8. replay says:

seriously . der girls in the mv hav no dressin sense . =.=

  9. xxx says:

    D: …

Anybody who says these lyrics aren’t arrogant is mentally retarded.:/ Idc if it was a joke, THEY STILL SOUND STUCK UP.

BUT STILL IT’S CATCHY AND WONDERGIRLS.

    ilu for translating bbz. 8D

  10. meloya says:

if the songs lyrics annoys you why the hell ar u here chekin this page?
    ..morons – -a

  11. Ines says:

eh the whole song/MV was making fun of victims of the “princess disease,” a commonly used Korean term.

it’s where “the infected individual tends to exhibit a degree of concern regarding her appearance… Some constantly request confirmation of their beauty, or presents from any and all males in the vicinity” (gordsellar.com).

it’s not a surprise that a lot of people missed the satire though, considering the reason it got popular in the west was the V-line dance..plus, people didn’t bother looking up interviews where the girls actually stated that the song is supposed to be a COMEDIC SATIRE. the girls themselves were even worried about fan reactions, but apparently, most of the Koreans caught on.

  12. I think this is supposed to be funny. Well, I find it funny. I love how stupid this song is. Haha (:
& I agree with becool, let’s blame our society. (:

  13. Maria says:

    I agree with Ines.

I really like this song because it’s so fun and the music video is hilarious.
I don’t understand why some people take the lyrics so seriously… It’s so obvious that it’s meant to be a joke about people with ‘princess complex’.

  14. yaoi_loverz says:

Aigoo~ even though this lyric sounds so arrogant (and i hate it, really!)
but don’t flaming WG!! it’s not their fault for singing this song, aite?
just enjoy the song and forget about the lyric!

  15. Selphie says:

Maybe I’ve been too influenced by American culture or something, but I didn’t take this song as them being “conceited?” I didn’t even know it was a joke, but it still didn’t bother me that they were talking about hot they were. Why? Cuz it’s just a song, that’s why — I don’t take it seriously. There’s hundreds of songs that mimic this type of arrogant sounding lyrics, and no one else seems to make a big huff about them? It’s not like it’s some deep heart-wrenching metaphorical song… it’s a song meant for fun. Take a chill pill guys… seriously.
